How to set up your own Ethereum Wallet with MyEtherWallet
LINK: https://www.myetherwallet.com
Go to the MyEtherWallet home page, if you have never used a service like this before it may be a good idea to read through the splash screen of slides they present to you before you start.
When you finish the slides (from memory theres about 10 of them) you will be presented with the option to create a new wallet
Enter a reasonably secure password (passphrases recommended) into the field provided and then click the "Create New Wallet" Button
At the next screen you will need to download your Keystore file by clicking the button. The downloaded file will have a long filename starting with "UTC--" and a bunch of trailing characters. Please please please take note of the warning they provide. This Keystore cannot be recovered. Make multiple backups!
**Do not lose it!** It cannot be recovered if you lose it.
**Do not share it!** Your funds will be stolen if you use this file on a malicious/phishing site.
**Make a backup!** Secure it like the millions of dollars it may one day be worth.
To continue press the "I understand. Continue." button.
On the next page ... also make sure you save your private key, in a few different locations so you have a backup.
Now you have created a wallet, you have downloaded and saved your Keystore file, you have also saved your private key as a redundancy.
Click "save your address" - you will need to unlock the wallet to see your wallet address. THe preference is to use your Keystore file and only use private ky as redundancy. So select the Keystore / JSON File radio button and then click the SELECT WALLET FILE Button when it appears
Navigate to the copy of the Keystore file you downloaded (and of course also backed up somewhere safe) then type in your password then click Unlock when presented to unolock your wallet

For security there is a timeout on MyEtherWallet, but now that you are all set up you can simply go to the front page of https://www.myetherwallet.com/ and from the right hand menu select the Keystore File option to sign in using your password.
